Re: Brake tools

Ryan, if you're using steel line a little tip is to anneal the end before flaring. I heat the end up 'till it's red, let it cool then flare away!
And the AZ/GreatNeck flare tool set isn't too bad!

Re: New to us XJ - Cant pass it up!

The general rule with Cherokees and "surface rust" is that it'a always worse than it actually looks! Check out my thread in the tech section "Project Blue Cross" there's some pics of "surface rust". The e-brake handle should be a cheap fix. Lots of them in junk yards an...

Re: Everyone ok after Sandy?

Lights flickered once I think. Had a dead tree fall across the road at about 12:30 in the afternoon after a gust of wind. Pulled it to the sidewalk so traffic could get by (state had it cleaned up within an hour!). Top half of a maple broke behind the house. Some of the branches bounced off the roof...

Re: Earthquake 10/16/12 - Who felt it?

Felt it in Townsend. Thought it was a huge gust of wind at first then realized it was too quiet for that.

Re: Low Oil pressure when braking

I'm willing to bet it's a sensor going bad.
Ol' Yeller was showing good pressure cold or hot with the mechanical gauge hooked up at idle. With the sending unit it shows good when cold and low to the point of the check gauges light going off when hot at idle.

Re: frame side track bar bracket

Looks like your best bet! And you should be able to position the bracket to compensate for the loss of offset on the joint.

Re: frame side track bar bracket

That track bar mount should do the trick. I've always prefered the double shear mounts and having both mounting bolts pointing in the same directon just seems to make more sense. Seems to me that your track bar is strong enough. What to do with the track bar itself all depends on how much clearance ...

Re: 94 XJ 4lo wont engage

Yep, basically what Amanda said.
Does the t-case shifter handle move easily, or is it really tight?
Look under the Jeep on the driver's side front seat area kind of above the front driveshaft.
Hose it down good with PB and try to see what condition all the pivot points on the linkages are in.
