Well......... Radio Shack antennas........ need I say more? Bad connections, bad coax, would be my first choices. Even with a bad tune, you should be able to hear at normal trail distances. LOL - we've had the following Jeeps in our almost 30 years of marriage: 1995 YJ Wrangler, 1996 Grand Cherokee, 2000 TJ Wrangler, 1997 TJ Wrangler, 1998 TJ Wrangler and 2008 JK Sahara and honestly, I don't recall a time when we did not get a notice in the mail about a recall on any of these vehicles...
